"I made my garden as the deceased was a keen gardener.
I used a pillow which I filled with various flowers and foliage, this also included tin foil for a pool,gourds,stone garden path and a fence from steel grass, it was very differentt! but looked fabulous!!"
About the florist : I have been doing floristry for 16yrs as a hobby, I enjoy funeral work, it gives me job satisfaction, thete\'s nothing that beats the smell and ambience of the flower market, with the amazing colours and scents.

This picture shows an unusual use for a wreath wring! Using the ring enabled us to create a variation on a design using candelabra that the Bride had spotted in a glossy magazine but, for a fraction of the cost.

This "Power Ranger" was created on a 4 by 2 design sheet for a child's funeral. We use an artist to outline the image directly onto the design sheet before we fill in with flowers.

This was designed and made-up for the Society of Floristry Annual Show November, 2007 held in Nottingham.
Val used 15 wraps of double white chrysanthemum, 4 wraps of dendrobium orchids, 2 wraps of white stocks, light foliage and diamante glittering for highlights. Make-up time: 2.5 hours.
The swan measured approximately 3' high (36").

This was designed and made for the Annual Society of Floristry Show in Nottingham in November 2007.
Val used 10 wraps of the double white chrysanthemum, approximately 15 laurel leaves for the tips of the wings and the tail. The head, neck and wings were then sprayed with blue spray paint. For the feet Val used thick wire of 5 short lengths of 1.5 thick florist wire, bent to shape and wrapped with thick string and then sprayed yellow/orange. The beak was cut out of thick plastic and sprayed orange.

The frame was made up of component parts, supplied by Val Spicer Designs.
The wheels and the base were sprayed with black florist spray paint. The body work consisted of 16 wraps of white chrysanthemum which was sprayed with bright red spray paint. Logos and badges were downloaded and enlarged from the internet, stuck onto card and then cut out. These were mounted onto double leg wires and inserted into the finished base. The overall length of the car was approximately 40". Time taken: 3 hours.

This pigeon was made up of white double chrysanthemums for base, eucalyptus leaves for the wing, Abaca ribbon (sisal type) for the beak and the feed and a red rose in the mouth looking as though it had just been picked up by the pigeon.

We were asked to make a flat-bed lorry with a skip as a tribute to a scrap-dealer. Jay Spicer very kindly took on the challenge to create this design and our thanks go to him for a great model.

I found the foam shapes very easy to use. It took me about 2 hours to make up.
The football was for a Yeovil Football Team supporter and I used double chrysanths and I sprayed the base with the green floral spray paint.

This 4 ft Bart travelled in the bottom end of the hurst and stayed still all the way. Even though the actual frame was made from wood, it was covered in Val Spicer foam.
I love a challenge, so I do like to work to my absolute extreme. I was brought up with flowers so a career in floristry was paramount. I have been active in floristry for 15 years and would not have it any other way !

I have been a really creative person all my life and when my mum took over Drury's Florist in Rochester, Kent a year ago I was really excited to be creative at work too. I have had to make some really fun things for people not all of them were bought shapes and a lot of the ready made shapes I've had to customise myself but the Val Spicer site has always been a great inspiration and I now know I can make pretty much anything out of Val Spicer foam and flowers !!

I was asked for a ball of wool and knitting needles as a funeral tribute. The ball is made up of carnations sprayed and then the fluffy ribbon is wrapped around and also a few stitches knitted.

The armchair tribute was created for a large romany gypsy family funeral. It is made from white based double chrysanths, green kermit chrysanths and has a spray of green orchids. The family of the deceased were overwhelmed with how well the tribute looked.
Mr Flower Ltd is situated in Chatham in Kent and has been established over 20 years. Mr Flower employs a number of fully skilled florists who are happy to meet their customers requirements no matter how big or small.

This swan was designed for a customer for a funeral. They wanted it 3d but there wasn't a frame available so I made it out of a 3d rugby ball. I used stocks and delph for the wings and made the neck out of the cylinder shaped foam. I finished it using blue spider to make the water. In total the design took me at least 5 hrs because of having to make the frame.
I went into partnership with my mum last year and am currently working towards my NVQ Level 2.

I used similar colours to a well known designer of bags! The club heads I removed from the frame and used some from a plastic children's set, sprayed silver. The ball is a small sphere trimmed even smaller and covered with the tiniest white AYR. The base is all AYR and the stitching is Hypericum berries.

I made this tribute on 610 x 305 floraboard. I glued a dry oasis block cut in three lengthwise to lift the picture above the wet oasis and it was encapsulated to also keep it dry. Then the mixed flowers were added in the colours of the sunset they were sitting in front of.

This is a funeral tribute I made from two blocks of foam divided by wooden dowling which I also used for the legs. I painted them barber shop style green and white. For the awning I used white and green carnations and then used mini fruit and veg for the stock. I covered the edges with sissal.
I have been a florist since 1990. I really love doing funeral tributes as people ask for the most unusual things and I am always up for a challenge.

This dove is from the Val Spicer Design Collection.
The rear wing was cut from the spare of the design sheet and the front one was made of wire and feathers.
The feet from the frame were removed and replaced with ones made of wire. The beak was covered with ribbon.

I created this from jumbo blocks of foam, posy pads for the wheels and various sundries to give the tractor effect.
Then I flowered it with double white chrysanthemums and used greenery to give the "field" look.
